Andy Warhol Passion
“Art exists (maybe), but I don't believe in it,” Andy Warhol
It is superfluous to talk again about the knot that ties our brand to the world of art: for all of you who read us and are our faithful friends, Poshfriends as we love to call you, the link between Art and Poshead is now more than known.
The relationship with art for Poshead has always been strong and important and like a snail it always turns on the same bases: ART-ARTICLE-COMMUNICATION-CONCEPT.
We could not miss an important celebration in this regard, a collection that spoke openly of an artist, one in particular, that artist who broke all the patterns of art history, that character who in the 60s in New York, to quote Argan, represents the "non-creativity of mass civilization": Andy Warhol. It is no longer a time of craftsmanship with minimum quantity and maximum quality, the Industrial Revolution has long since passed and we are in the midst of the economic boom of the 60s, moreover in New York: Warhol is the greatest exponent of Pop Art.
Superficially we could be oriented to think of this artist as an exponent of concepts that are exactly the opposite of what Poshead has been trying to communicate since the beginning of his career; Warhol in fact seems to want to approve the nullification of the author, unlimited reproduction, commodification. In reality the American artist did not approve of mass culture and the American way of life, being interested above all in the psychological aspect that repetition, of news or images, influenced the public, thus becoming the greatest communicator of the American way of life. Artisan product versus industrial product is a difference that Warhol had well in mind: a basic concept in the creation and production of our brand.
Everything that Poshead and Warhol apparently have in opposition are nothing more than connecting links.
The idea of dedicating a collection to this artist was born from the love, needless to say, for the must-have accessory par excellence, glasses, the undisputed protagonists of the Poshead brand and inseparable companions of every outing that Andy Warhol made, always paired with his Leica for which he spent these words: "I carry my camera everywhere I go. Having a new roll of film to develop gives me a good reason to wake up in the morning".
With the Warhol Collection, the accessory that distinguishes Poshead, the glasses, were made of metal and enameled to then be displayed on our leather or denim creations. Attention to materials and respect for raw materials and excellent quality have led us to produce them in an extremely pop key, with a shiny appearance, silver or gold, enameled by hand and in contrasting colors so as to be able to reproduce the brand in an extremely pop version just like a billboard writing.
The bags from this very unique collection are not available on our online shop and can only be purchased upon order.
Poshead, a conceptually pop and art-loving brand, has always created and produced its products by hand in Italy.
